Located right below Prague Castle in the historical Mala Strana / Lesser Town, the Golden Star hotel offers you charming rooms, fine cuisine, and great views.

While carefully preserving the original architectural elements, it offers all luxury of modern life. The original 270 year-old staircase, ornamental plaster ceilings and period wooden furniture accentuate the historical atmosphere of the house.

The original period furniture has been individually selected providing for the inspiring in your room or suite as well. Internet access via modem is available in all rooms free of charge. Some rooms offer wonderful views onto the Royal Route and Prague Castle.

The reception desk services are available 24 hours a day and include fax, photocopying and scanning services. There is also an internet corner at the reception available at an additional cost.

When it's time to have dinner, the Golden Star's restaurant sets standards for excellent cuisine and service. A wide range of tempting dishes is prepared by superior chefs in the tradition of the finest Czech and international cuisine. The restaurant is open from 07:00 to 22:00 ans also offers vegetarian dishes.

The restaurant can also provide an unforgettable setting for your wedding banquet or graduation celebration.

The first written notes of the house date back to 1372, when it was owned by the Mayor of Hradčany. During the following century, the house changed its owners several times. Among them we can find servants of the Czech kings, members of different religious orders and many important Prague burghers. In 1723-1732, the house underwent a thorough and costly reconstruction that shaped its present aspect.

After a complete reconstruction in May 2000, the Golden Star hotel opened its ancient gate.
